Special Guest: Martin Moloney

Martin Moloney joins the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in September 2021 as Secretary General. Prior to joining IOSCO, Martin was Director General of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC). He also worked as a Special Adviser on Risk and Regulation to the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), where he served for 16 years, previously heading up the Markets Policy, Markets Supervision, and Legal and Finance Divisions respectively.

Martin has also been an alternate member of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), as well as Chair of the latter’s Investment Management Standing Committee. He has been Chair of the European Systemic Risk Board’s Expert Group on Investment Funds and has represented Ireland on the EU Committee of Securities Regulators.

Janet Alvarez is a formidable consumer advocate and veteran bilingual financial journalist who serves as Executive Editor of personal finance publication, WiseBread. She also serves as a fill-in Anchor for WHYY/NPR in Philadelphia, PA and CNBC Contributor. Jose Alexandre Vasco is the Director of Investor Protection and Assistance at CVM and serves on numerous national and international regulatory committees. Vasco has served as a former chairperson of IOSCO's Committee on Retail Investors (C8) and coordinator of World Investor Week, coordinator of OECD/Global Money Week Working Group, member of the OECD International Network on Financial Education (INFE), member of the IOSCO Sustainability Task Force (STF), member of the G20/OECD-INFE Task Force on Consumer Protection, member of SSE Climate Disclosure Advisory Group, member of the Steering Group FC4S, member of IOSCO FinTech Network, and more.

Panelist: Miles Larbey

Miles Larbey is the Acting Head of Consumer Finance, Insurance & Pensions Division at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). In this role, he is responsible for the OECD’s policy work relating to financial consumer protection, financial education, insurance and private pensions, and supporting OECD committees and networks in these areas. This includes the OECD International Network on Financial Education, which represents public institutions in over 120 countries responsible for financial education and related topics.

Miles has over 20 years of experience working in financial regulation, consumer protection law and policy; banking, credit and insurance supervision; and financial education across a number of jurisdictions. Before his role at the OECD, Miles held positions as the Senior Executive Leader for Financial Capability and Senior Manager, Deposit-takers, Credit & Insurance at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission; General Manager of Investor Education at the Hong Kong Securities & Futures Commission; and worked on consumer protection law reform at the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK.

Panelist: Amy Richardson, CFP®

Amy Richardson, CFP®, is the Senior Manager, Financial Planner at Charles Schwab. In her current role, she provides training and education to business partners and clients focusing on holistic wealth management. She most recently was part of Charles Schwab's Centralized Planning Group where she lead a team of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals supporting retail clients and Branch Partners through financial planning.

Previous to that role, Amy helped launch Schwab’s first hybrid financial planning offer Schwab Intelligent Portfolios Premium as a financial planner. Prior to Schwab, she was a Client Relationship Manager working with high-net-worth individuals and families at a local RIA. Amy received a degree in Finance & Real Estate from the University of Denver and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
